I had a mini-lapse in judgment last weekend and dropped a nice chunk of change at the LANCÔME counter. I didn’t mean for it to happen; I was there with my mother, who had scheduled a facial the last time we went to the counter. While I was waiting for her to finish her facial done, the associates demonstrated several products for me. I loved all of them, but I bought just a few (seven, to be correct).

Fairydrops on your eyelashes: Fairdrops Scandal Queen Mascara Review
So I have kind of given up on finding a mascara that will hold a curl with my stubborn straight. I spoke with a Sephora make-up artist and
told them my frustration and they pointed me in the direction of Japan’s Fairydrops Scandal Queen. They
said that this mascara has fibers to length my eyelashes. This mascara also has a patented (In Japan) mascara brush that helps curl your eyelashes as you apply your mascara.
I really wanted this mascara to work, because I love the packing of the product and it seemed so promising. I felt since this product was from Japan, that they made this product keeping Asian eyelashes in mind. I also have a higher end eyelash curler from Shiseido that should have helped the Fairydrops mascara hold my eyelash curl.
There is also possibility that I could not be using this product correctly and not be getting the whole benefit of this product. But I doubt it because the product should just be slowly brushed onto the eyelashes and curling at the same time.
Pros:
There are fibers to lengthen your eyelash.
The mascara does a good job defining your lower eyelashes.
Cons:
Doesn’t seem to hold a curl very well.
I get a ring of black mascara residue around my eyes at the end of the day.
The price of $24 for an ok mascara just isn’t worth it for me.
I won’t be purchasing this product again.
Let me know if you have any mascara suggestions for me!
*This mascara was not sent to me for review and is 100% my own and honest opinion of the product.
My Dupe List
I own a lot of beauty products, so I recently went through my stash to see if I had any similar or “dupes” of products out of the ones that I own. I tend to buy more high-end products, but I love drugstore products just as much as high-end products. This is the list of dupes out of the products that I own…
Review: Benefit’s ‘They’re Real’ Mascara!

I recently had the opportunity to go to a Benefit counter and hear exactly what the Benefit staff say about their new(ish) ‘They’re Real’ mascara. I know I’m a little late in reviewing this mascara but when I first tried it (my sister got it for Chri
stmas and I may have borrowed it – not hygienic I know!!) I really didn’t understand the hype and then just didn’t really bother much about it after that.
Then Lauren (my fellow Facekitt writer!) came to visit Glasgow and brought a little goody bag for Francene and I. In my gift bag was a sample of Benefit’s ‘They’re Real’ mascara.
Despite having tried it before I was keen to give it another go and I’m really not sure why I didn’t love this mascara in the first place!
Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Lash Extension System Review
At the end of April I picked up the Too Faced Better Than False Lashes system on a trip to Sephora. I had heard great things about this product and since I’m not the best with false lashes, I figured I would see if it really worked.
April Favorites
Another month has passed, so you all know what that means…favorites time! Was it just me or did April go by super fast? Anyway, let’s get into what products I loved using this past month.
What Is In My Travel Makeup Bag- Spring Break Edition
Since I’m currently on Spring Break and in Seattle right now, I figured I would share what I packed to take with me on my trip. I left my camera charger at school, so I recorded a video with my laptop webcam. I made a YouTube channel special for future videos exclusively for Facekitt. So be on the look out for more videos to come!
