Brush Cleaners Comparison

I am really into the ideas that people post on Pintrest.  I recently read a pin on Pintrest that said a cup of hot water mixed with one tablespoon of distilled white vinegar is an effective makeup brush cleaner. I found this interesting, beca

use I have a small bottle of Sephora’s Daily Brush Cleanser, $6.

So I decided to test my store bought brush cleaner against this homemade brush cleaner.  All I purchased for the homemade cleaner was a

small spray bottle, which I picked up for $1.  The vinegar I borrowed from my mother’s pantry.

I decided to test this out on two very well used eye brushes of mine.  I begin by layering two tissues together and spraying a bit of the product on the tissues. I used about five sprays of each product on the tissues. Then, I swirled the brushes on the dampened tissues.  I used a few more tissues to get the brushes completely clean.

Products I Use When I'm "Tan"

I’ve still been using the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousseand still love it.  Of course it has a few issues such as, not tanning my face as much as I

Surprisingly enough I’ve come across quite a few people that are unsure of how to clean their makeup brushes the proper way. Do I use baby shampoo? Face wash? Regular soap? This was me until one day I decided to research the most effective and popular way to clean my brushes. I was actually surprised to hear that not washing your makeup brushes is equivalent to not washing your face. I mean what?! That’s gross! I wash my face twice a day, and would never have assumed to wash my makeup brushes that much. But it’s that important! So, in this post I’m going to show you some tips and tricks that I use for cleaning my makeup brushes. I promise it’s easy, all you need is to grab your brushes, extra virgin olive oil, paper towel, plate and dish soap.  So let’s get started!

My Makeup Wish List

Every few months or so I make a wish list of products I would like to purchase within the next couple of months.  I did this over the summer and I bought all but two products on my list.  A lot of the time I find myself loving items on Sephora.com or wanting so many things YouTube beauty gurus talk about.  So here is my list of items I hope to purchase soon…

1)   Benefit’s Watt’s Up highlighter ($30)- I absolutely love Benefit’s high beam highlighter so when I heard they created a more champagne colored highlighter, I’ve been wanting it forever.  Not too many people have talked about this product, but the concept is very cool.  This goes from a cream to powder finish, which I know I will like better than high beam because it’s very goopy.

Old & New Beauty Tool Reviews

Old & New Beauty Tool Reviews

To me, the beauty tools I use are almost as important as the makeup I choose to invest it. Lately I have been expanding my beauty tools collection and thought it would be fun to do a review of some of the old and new tools I have.

For Christmas I was so thankful to receive a Clarisonic Mia (in pink of course) from my Mom. The minute I opened it the first thing that popped into my head was, “I can’t wait to do a review on this!” So here we are, day 3 of me using it and I am absolutely in love. Keep reading if you want to hear what I made me fall completely in love with this tool, and a few others…
