The Body Shop Haul and offer on in Scotland

If you follow me on twitter (@FranceneRisk) or are friends with me on Facebook (Francene O’Donnell) then you will have seen me talk about an offer that is on at The Body Shop in Scotland until the 14th of February. If you buy two items you recieve 20% off, if you buy three you get 30% off and if you buy four you get 40% off. On top of this, if you have a Love Your Body card, you receive an extra 10% off. I think that this is an amazing offer and in this post I will tell you about what I bought.

I have been on two separate trips to The Body Shop since I found out about this offer. The first time I went I picked up their Sensual Ylang Ylang  Massage Oil which is normally £10.

How to: Clean Your Makeup Brushes (& use a Brush Guard)

photo via sigmabeauty.com

Surprisingly enough I’ve come across quite a few people that are unsure of how to clean their makeup brushes the proper way. Do I use baby shampoo? Face wash? Regular soap? This was me until one day I decided to research the most effective and popular way to clean my brushes. I was actually surprised to hear that not washing your makeup brushes is equivalent to not washing your face. I mean what?! That’s gross! I wash my face twice a day, and would never have assumed to wash my makeup brushes that much. But it’s that important! So, in this post I’m going to show you some tips and tricks that I use for cleaning my makeup brushes. I promise it’s easy, all you need is to grab your brushes, extra virgin olive oil, paper towel, plate and dish soap.  So let’s get started!

All Things About Nails

I regularly paint my nails and they always chip.  Honestly, it ruins my day when I have even the slightest chip of my nail polish.  I try to always use a base coat, but feel like it doesn’t help.

On my latest trip to Ulta while glancing at the Butter London nail polishes and saw their Nail Foundation base coat.  This product is cool because it has a matte finish that I think creates a great base for nail polish.  I’ve used this a few times and haven’t seen drastic changes with my nail polish chipping, but that may be because I have been packing and trying to get ready for my new school semester.

My Makeup Wish List

Every few months or so I make a wish list of products I would like to purchase within the next couple of months.  I did this over the summer and I bought all but two products on my list.  A lot of the time I find myself loving items on Sephora.com or wanting so many things YouTube beauty gurus talk about.  So here is my list of items I hope to purchase soon…

1)   Benefit’s Watt’s Up highlighter ($30)- I absolutely love Benefit’s high beam highlighter so when I heard they created a more champagne colored highlighter, I’ve been wanting it forever.  Not too many people have talked about this product, but the concept is very cool.  This goes from a cream to powder finish, which I know I will like better than high beam because it’s very goopy.

My Make-up Resolution!

Happy New Year everyone! It’s that time again- the dreaded resolution! I’ve made the usual not so unique ones! “I vow to loose 10 pounds before my birthday” “I’m going to eat healthier” “I will stop eating a pint of strawberry ice cream every time vampire diaries airs” “Blah blah promise promise” – usually I gain 10 pounds by my birthday, I find a new favourite thing off the dollar menu and I eat 2 pints, before and after depending on how hot damon looks on that episode!- I hate resolutions! But I have come up with a resolution that I won’t hate or fail at! Everyone addicted to make-up raise your hand, or in this case your mouse icon. I’m going to start making beauty resolutions that I wont fail at so it counteracts me failing at regulating my addiction to food!  This is so much more fun, and because it’s beauty related, my addiction won’t allow me to fail…miserably.
