Facekitt - Project Pan

Project Pan

Shopping my Stash

Shopping my Stash

A while ago some of the Facekitt writers attempted to undertake Project Pan . I say attempted because the ladies admitted themselves that they weren’t very successful at doing it! I decided not to take part as I find it difficult to abstain from buying make-up that I really want to try out or if I see a good bargain.

With that being said,  recently I have seen some interesting videos by YouTube Beauty Gurus on project pan and on shopping their stash. The one I found most useful was from Michele1218 which you can find here.  With my summer holiday to Tunisia fast approaching it inspired me to save money for the shops at the airport and to think more seriously about using up some of the make-up I already have.  If  you would like to find out more about my experience of shopping my stash and what advice I would give if you feel like doing this too then please read on.

Natural Lips, but better!

Photo acquired from google.

Facekitt Junkies! Lately I’ve been wearing hardly any make-up, and by hardly I mean neutral make-up – I’m still an addict peoples!  This is actually helping me with my “failed from the beginning” Project Pan experiment. The matte neutral colors from my original Naked Palette (Naked & Buck) are getting even more use these past few days, and I’ve been looking for a lip color that complimented my neutral eyes! I’ve not been in the mood for bold lips, and I’ve been really bored with Angel Lipstick (My favorite M.A.C. lip color).

Back to the crypt I go. The cold, dark, box where I keep my dead or dying makeup products. As I was rummaging through it, I found a lipstick that I don’t even remember buying! I pulled it out and turned it over to read the name … Read More

Maybelline Color Tattoo : 24Hr Eyeshadow

Maybelline Color Tattoo : 24Hr Eyeshadow

…I’m ashamed of myself! I bought more make-up before I used up 10 products! As most of you know already, most of the Facekitt world is revolving around the amazing resurfacing of “Project Pan“. I convinced myself to do it after a while but I should’ve known better, how can I expect myself to walk into a drugstore and walk out with no make-up? – …ashamed! I feel like an addict, I walked past the beauty isle and my palms got all sweaty and the room started to spin (okay, thats an exaggeration – but still!) I picked up a few of the Color Tattoo Eyestudio Eyshadow’s and I ripped them open before I even got in my room! – addict? I was going to review one of them because I figured that they’re all pretty much the same thing – boy was I wrong! They may share the same name, but some are a lot better than others! In this post (because I haven’t decided which one is my favorite, I’m going to review the one I’m positive is the worst of the bunch!) – I think it’s the only matte one I saw, so lets start there!

Peony Power

Happy Sunday My favorite people to talk to!  Today in my attempt to start using products that I hardly ever do – I emptied out one of my storage bins (I call this particular one (‘The crypt’) you can assume why! It’s where I buried all the products that deserve to die a horrible cosmetic death! – Harsh! While I was rubbling through the garbage that I emptied I came across this Revlon Color-burst LipGloss (Peony 008)! I don’t even remember buying this but I don’t think I ever opened it! It still had the seal on it so I have no idea how I could have ‘tested it’ for me to ‘bury it’. Anyway, I ripped it open in excitement – it was a new product (at least in my eyes!) I tried it on, played with it and found a heavenly combination! My secret flirty lip weapon! Read More

Linda’s Project Pan Products #2 and 3: The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner

First off, I would like to confess that I have cheated (a little) on Project Pan. Only because I hated my current shampoo and conditioner and was really craving a trip to Lush, so figured I may as well pick up a shampoo here I actually like (and works for my hair), and curb my shopaholic needs. I didn’t get a conditioner because I am still trying to save money, and I had a full bottle of Tresemme Conditioner at home, but I would have had literally no shampoo so I needed to get some. Now, I didn’t quite finish these products I’m going to review, but I did give them a decent try, used about 3/4 of the bottle of shampoo and 1/4 of the conditioner (yes the conditioner was THAT bad), but I decided to include it because it literally will be thrown out and hit the bottom of my garbage very soon, and I thought it needed a review so no one makes the same mistake that I did. So for the sake of this post, I completely finished it, deal? ;)

The products I “finished” were The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner. Read on if you want to hear just why I hated these products and will not be repurchasing them again…

Rediscovering the Urban Decay Deluxe Palette

As you might have seen, some of the Facekitt writers have decided to do Project Pan . While I haven’t committed to this, I have been inspired to rediscover a product that I haven’t used in a long while which is Urban Decay’s Deluxe Palette.

I have had this for around four years now and it is still available to buy. In seraching online for it it came up on the Debenhams website in the UK for £27 and it is also available on the official Urban Decay website in the United States for $38. Here is a photo of a nice new one.
