Fitness: My First Race for the Cure Experience

Fitness: My First Race for the Cure Experience

This is my first fitness post and I am very excited about it! On Saturday (6/23/12) I participated in the St. Louis Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. If you are unfamiliar with the Susan G. Komen organization, it raises money for breast cancer research and is the largest breast cancer organization in the world. The main fundraising comes from the Race for the Cure, which are held not only in the U.S., but also various places around the world. It was very important for me to participate in this race because a few months ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. So let’s get into my experience…

How to Feel Beautiful!!

So my lovely people, this is one of those 2 am deep-talk sessions. I couldn’t think of a better way to write this blog than to stay up really late and just vent and try to help you all. Because this is a topic that a lot of people, men and women, str

uggle with, and its taken me awhile to get to this point. And I’m not saying that I have a stellar amount of self-confidence, but its definitely a lot better than what it was 6 months ago. So this post is going to be a bit of a personal story. Please excuse the babbling, and I’ll try to be as clear as I can!!

Beauty Benefits of Coconut Water!!

If you follow me on Twitter (if you don’t then you should! wink wink), then you’ll know that I’ve been sick since Friday! No matter what I did, I never felt pretty. Eventually, I just gave up on that but I knew I had to stay hydrated! Coconut water is my favorite way to stay hydrated, because lets be honest, water gets really boring after awhile! Then I had an idea, lets do a little research on the beauty benefits on coconut water!

L’OREAL Youth Code Day Lotion SPF 30

Image acquired from Google

I wish I could scream this post out on top of make-up mountain! I think I’ve found one of the best moisturizers with SPF! Some of you may not understand the dynamic of such a find, especially those without oily or combination skin. Most products with an SPF tend to be very oily and greasy in texture, when in actuality we need something light in texture and consistency. I don’t wear (try not to wear) liquid foundation in the daytime, yet sometimes if I’m headed to a more eventful date I will pop a light layer over some concealer.

I’ve tried this product under power, liquid and cream in the morning, afternoon and night and I was amazed how my makeup held up with this product! I’ve gone through a few really expensive and affordable and this is definitely in the top 3! Read More

Dry to Moisturized : Hair & Skin Nectar

Photo acquired from google

Today I had a random beauty reminder from the elements! It’s been a little chilly lately in FL – sunny, but the wind has been brutal to my hair and skin! There is nothing worse than having dry skin and hair and having to go outside when the sun is out in full force while the icy wind is trying to blow you over….am I in Florida? As soon as I got home I decided I needed an intervention! My hair & skin were going to go through an intense moisturizing session regardless how distracted or tired I was! … After the 2 hour process I knew I HAD to share this experience with your guys because my skin is as soft as after a spa day – and my hair is  flowing and shiny as a hair care commercial model! Toot Toot!

I know this may not be a new thing for most of you, so think of this post as a very important reminder – keep your entire self hydrated! The magic oil – EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) is so versatile that it can pretty much be used for everything within the beauty galaxy!  You can use it to remove makeup, soothe razor bumps, add it to body washes, condition your cuticles, and in this particular instance increase the moisture levels in your hair and enhance the texture of your skin! #TeamProEVOO

After spending the entire day in the brutal heat and whipping wind I ran inside for a homemade spa treatment! – Time to let you guys in on my little secret! Read More
