How To: Vintage Hair Wrap!!

Okay I know that title sounds a little crazy, but I promise it isn’t as weird as you think! So the other night, I was out with some friends and a girl in my group had this scarf wrapped around her head. It looked sooo cute that I had to ask her how s

he did it!! She had a pin-up style with tattoos, so the scarf fit very well for her. The next day I wanted to try it but was afraid it wouldn’t look right with my style. But how am I supposed to know unless I tried, right?

Glitterbug Jewellery

I am really excited to be bringing Facekitt readers something a bit different this week. Glitterbug Jewellery is a business run by the fabulous Marie Sutherland. She can make you pieces of jewellery for every occasion and the pieces really do make fantastic gifts. When I got married last year I knew I wanted to wear pearls that my husband had got me for my birthday one year. He had got me earrings and a necklace, and for my big day I wanted to get a bracelet to match. When I saw this one on the Glitterbug Jewellery Facebook page I instantly fell in love!

What’s in my bag?

The contents of a woman’s purse can really tell a lot about her, so I decided it would be fun to share with you all what I carry in mine. I feel like I’m always on the go, so I find it essential to have what seems like my entire life in one bag.

So this is my bag, huge, I know! Sometimes I will use one of my smaller purses, but this is always my go to purse when I know I’ll need to be carrying a lot around. I can’t remember how much I bought it for, but I believe it was around $35 CAN and it was purchased at H&M last winter. Read on if you want to know what I keep in this giant thing!

Halloween Costume Idea: Totally 80s

Halloween Costume Idea: Totally 80s

Today we were allowed to dress up at work and though it’s not a very creative costume it is very simple and easy to do in a hurry–great for a last minute costume idea. I didn’t have to purchase anything, I just used stuff around my room.
To start with, we have the makeup. A staple of the 80s: BRIGHT COLORS! Don’t be afraid to really pack on the color. First I applied a my base Mac’s Paint Pot in “Painterly”. Then I used a bright blue eyeshadow, “Pool” by mark. Cosmetics over top of the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Cottage Cheese”. The NYX pencil really allowed the blue shadow to pop. Then I put a purple eyeshadow, “Picadilly” by mark. Cosmetics in the crease just for depth. On my lips was the NYC Lipstick in “Lilac Dream” with the mark. Lipgloss “Pink Crush” on top. For blush I used the Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in “Pink Frosting”–the blush was the “icing on the cake” (pun intended). The bright pink blush really brought out the blue shadow and looked totally 80s. I added the little jewel on the side of my eye for a more WOW effect.
