During the past few months, I have worked my way through various shampoo and conditioners. I have been experimenting with different brands to find a new shampoo and conditioner for my damaged hair. After going through many salon and drugsto
re brands and being satisfied with them, but not thrilled, I decided to try Joico K-PAK Color Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner.
Pictured below, these products, the shampoo and the conditioner, have absolutely changed my hair, and the change was noticeable after one use. I color and flat iron my hair routinely, so I need a shampoo that will protect color treated hair, but also moisturize fried hair.
The shampoo does an excellent job cleaning my scalp; the conditioner is one of the best I have
ever used, because it moisturizes, but does not sit on my hair, making it feel weighed down. Not to mention these products have a fantastic smell. Although it is a bit pricey (about $16 each for shampoo and conditioner), I have noticed Ulta has these products in liters, and a few times a year these liters go on for sale for around $15 each, which is a bargain for shampoo and conditioner liters.
In
my time finding a new shampoo and conditioner, I have also changed my shampooing and conditioning routine. I found that any shampoo should be applied to the scalp, while conditioner should be applied to the ends. For a long time, I struggled with my hair being too dried out or too oily. I found that working the bulk of the shampoo into the roots is the best way, because it washes away a lot of the oil generated at the roots. Conditioner, on the other hand, helps nourishes the ends of hair and needs to steer clear of roots, because it will only weigh down your hair. I also like to leave the conditioner on for a few minutes while I finish the rest of my shower routine. This way, the conditioner can penetrate the ends.
