I own a lot of beauty products, so I recently went through my stash to see if I had any similar or “dupes” of products out of the ones that I own. I tend to buy more high-end products, but I love drugstore products just as much as high-end products. This is the list of dupes out of the products that I own…
Butter London in The Full Monty- Color Club in Disco Nap: Metallic gold nail polish colors are not hard to find, but these two are identical. The only thing that makes them different is the formulation and I prefer Butter London’s.
OPI Teenage Dream- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Strobe Light: Before I found Teenage Dream at a random nail polish store in Washington state, I considered getting the Sally Hansen nail polish instead. Teenage Dream is pink-ier, but the rainbow glitter effect is the same. It’s nice to know that if I run out of Teenage Dream, since it was limited addition, there is another polish out there that it very similar.
OPI Last Friday Night- Sinful Colors in Hottie I Have It: I remember spotting this Sinful Colors nail polish at Walgreens and thinking it
was Last Friday night before I saw the label. Again the Katy Perry OPI polishes were limited edition, but I have seen Last Friday Night at Target and Ulta recently.
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation- Covergirl Natureluxe liquid silk foundation: This is a weird similarity because they are different in consistency, but have the same coverage. The Laura Mercier has a think consistency, but the Covergirl natureluxe is more liquid-y.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment- Aveeno Essential Moisture Lip Conditioner: Both of these products feel exactly the same on the lips and have SPF 15 in them. They both smell good, but I prefer the lemon smell of the Fresh lip treatment.
Benefit benetint- theBalm Stainiac in Beauty Queen: The color of these stains/tints are exactly the same. Benetint is a liquid, where Stainiac is a more on a gel-based stain.
NARS Multiple in Orgasm- Tarte LipSurgence natural lip luster in Sweet: These differ in price by $15, but they are the exact same color. The LipSurgence in Sweet was in a kit I got at Sephora last summer and is not available on the site, so sorry about that. I like NARS Multiples because they have many uses, but in this case, the Tarte lip luster feels better on the lips.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil- NYX Slide On, Glide On, Stay On & Definitely A Turn On Water Proof, Extreme Shine Eye Liner: These products are pretty much the same thing. I like that NYX and Urban Decay have a wide range of colors in these eyeliner lines. Of course the NYX eyeliner is much cheaper, so if you like the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils, I defiantly recommend that you check the NYX eyeliner out.
Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara- Collection 2000 Super Size Fat Lash Mascara: Fellow Facekitt writer Gemma gifted the Collection 2000 mascara to me when I visited Scotland earlier this summer. As soon as I opened it, it reminded me of the UD Big Fatty mascara. The Collection 2000 brush is a bit smaller, but they give the same effect to lashes- big and voluminous.
NARS Super Orgasm- Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in Glisten: There is not a huge price difference between these two. I find Super Orgasm hard to work with because it has a bit too much glitter, but Glisten has just the right amount of glitter.
Benefit CORALista- Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush in Peach Satin: The Maybelline blush is MUCH brighter than CORALista, but they are the same color family of coral. I think these two are perfect to pair together, since the Dream Bouncy blushes are kind of creamy. So layering CORALista on top would work great to tone down the brightness and add shimmer, plus since it’s summer, your blush will last longer this way.
I will add to this post whenever I find products that are similar, so be sure to check this post here and there to see if I’ve added anything new.
Do you know of any dupes of beauty products? And have you tried any of these products?
P.S. Swatches will be up soon!!
