Being the nail polish obsessed girl I am, I had to try out the magnetic polish trend. I know this trend has been around for awhile and so many brands have their own version, but I chose to try out the Sally Hansen one.

After having this on my nails for a few days it has lasted pretty well and I like it a lot. The color I have is Polar Purple, which is a silvery purple that turns a darker purple once the magnet is held over it. There are eight other colors in this line and I definitely want to try some of them out.

Now onto how this polish works. The directions:

All you do is apply one coat of the polish and allow it to dry. Then apply another coat one nail at a time and immediately hold the magnet over the nail. And lastly use a top coat once all nails are dry.

This is what the magnet looks like:

I love that the magnet has a raised guide area that you put near your cuticle. But as you can see some of the polish got on the magnet because it is very easy to get the magnet too close to the nail. I wish there was raised guides on all sides of the magnet to ensure the nail does not touch the magnet.

How the design turned out:

Left hand- I did this hand first and was afraid of getting the magnet too close to my nails so that is why the design is hard to see.

Right hand- I definitely got the magnet closer this time.

Overall I like the design, it looks tie-dyedish to me. I would love to see some more colors come out because I think it would be fun to have rainbow tie-dyed nails for summer.

Have you tried magnetic polish?
