Hopefully most have you have already read my Glymm Box Review, but for those of you who are new (or just haven’t read it) make sure you read that here. I ha
ve a fun update promo about them if you read on, as well as a mini haul of some of the latest products I’ve picked up. I’ve tried to keep my spending on a minimum since I just bought a condo, but there’s been some things just way too tempting to not buy.
Glymm is a Canadian based company that sends beauty boxes once a month with 4-5 quality product samples for you to try out. It’s similar to Birchbox if you’ve heard of that. It’s only within Canada but I was excited to hear that they launched a new promo only for a limited time.
Each month individually is $12 a month so they came up with a promo where if you subscribe to 6 boxes for $60 (usually $70) you get 1 free box. Then for those of you wanting to subscribe for the full year you can get 12 boxes for $108 (usually $120) you will receive 3 free boxes. Glymm is great, and my favourite beauty box company by far. They always give quality products and send you samples based on what you like.
If you’re interested in subscribing to a beauty box make sure you check out Glymm!

Now, onto witnessing my shopaholic tendencies. I have such a temptation with products I sometimes just can’t resist them. Over the past month I’ve been eying some products and ended up picking some up on my recent trips to the mall.
I picked up Ocean Salt & Aqua Mirabilis after eyeing them for the past two months.
Ocean Salt by far surprised me the most. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect or whether I’d like it more as a face scrub or a body exfoliator. LUSH gives this description of the product: “Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, while the antibacterial effects of lime and vodka is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt and blockages”. This is clearly advertised much more as a face scrub than anything else, but after using it as both, I like it equally as much as a body exfoliator. When I was in the Lush store, she didn’t even sell it to me as a face scrub but as an exfoliator. I immediately fell in love with how soft it made my skin. I’m really impressed with this product, and although it’s expensive (CAN $34), it’s said to last 2-3 months. Definitely a product I recommend for an all in one scrub that’s gentle, smells great and leaves skin feeling super soft.
Aqua Mirabilis, although another exfoliant is still different than Ocean Salt. LUSH advertises this product saying, “give your skin an underwater shower massage with Aqua Mirabilis. Ground almond shells stimulate your bumpy bits and rub away dead skin cells to leave it soft, clear and smooth”. The reason this product is different from Ocean Salt is that even though they both exfoliate, Aqua Mirabilis is more moisturizing. It’s described as a body butter and therefore leaves a silky feeling on your skin. I use this product more at night for an all over cozy feeling, and use Ocean Salt for more of a deep clean. This is definitely a great product as well, and only CAN $10.95.
The third thing I’ve bought recently is Anastasia Brow Gel. Now, I talk about this product in my review of it here, so I wont go into detail but this has been another product I’ve really been loving and bought recently for CAN $13.
The last product in my mini haul is the Caudalie Cleansing Water. I only bought a small size of this because although hearing good things about it, I wasn’t really quite sure what it was. Was it a toner? A face wash? I had no idea really. I bought it hoping I’d be blown away but skeptical of what it would do for my skin.
he lady at Sephora instructed me to use it in the morning when I was too lazy to give my face a full wash but wanted to feel refreshed. So in attempts to try it out, that’s exactly what I did, and I was truly really surprised. This product was so refreshing on my skin and made it feel clean without the full on cleanse. I hate not washing my face in the morning, but some days I’m just too lazy or too rushed. So this was the perfect fix so that I don’t feel gross on those days but it doesn’t take up much time. I just put it on a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face and I’m good to go. It was around CAN $13 for the small size, but so far it seems like it will last a while.
Have you picked up any good products recently?
Linda, xx
