Summer is just around the corner and lately I’ve been inspired by a bunch of different things both beauty and fashion trend wise that I thought would be fun to share with all of you. I’ve kind of been in somewhat of a “

slum” as far as trying anything new so I started looking for inspirations from beauty guru’s, magazines and celebrities. Here’s some things I’ve either been trying or can’t wait to try this up coming season…

1. DIY Jewelry

After a recent trip back to my home town in Ontario, I spent a day with one of my best friends making homemade jewelry that we found on Pinterest. It was a perfect addition to the look of multiple bracelets that I’ve been loving as well. Below is pictures of the 2 bracelets I made:

2.Rose Gold

Now, I’m sure this trend probably isn’t something new to any of you, but it’s been really inspiring me for both jewelry and fashion picks this summer. The number one thing on my birthday wish list is a Michael Kors rose gold watch.

I’ve been searching on Etsy a lot for other rose gold accessories that I’m wanting to purchase eventually. Etsy is a website where you can basically buy and/or sell homemade and vintage items. A couple really cute things I found were…

Rose gold bangle

Rose gold Ring Necklace

Rose gold can be found in fashion as well, I’ve seen some really cute flats and flip flops that are a rose gold colour that would be perfect for both casual and dressy outfits.

3. Nude & Neon Combo

I love this summers trend of mixing nudes and neons. It looks great in fashion, makeup and nails. I’ve seen quite a few beauty guru’s paint a couple fingers a nude colour and a couple with a neon pink and personally I think it looks fantastic. I’ve also been trying it with my makeup too… Here’s a brief description of the makeup I’ve been using to create this nude/neon combo:

1st. Apply any eyeshadow primer – I use MAC Painterly Paint Pot
2nd. Apply a bright coral, orange or pink colour to the outer third of your lid – I use MAC Sushi Flower or MAC Paradisco

(Sushi flower – picture doesn’t do it justice, it’s much more vibrant of a colour)

(Paradisco – again, a lot more vibrant in person)

3rd. Apply any shimmery beige/nude colour to the inner 2/3 of the lid, just lightly over lapping with the bright colour – I use MAC Shroom

(MAC Shroom)

4th. Then in your crease blend a matte nude colour – I use Urban Decay Naked
5th. Line your eyes with either a black or brown eyeliner of your choice, add mascara and voila! The perfect nude/neon makeup combo! This looks super simple and looks great for summer.

*Video tutorial for this look coming soon

4. Ombre Hair

I recently decided to do something new to my hair and after seeing a bunch of celebrities trying the ombre hair style, I got really inspired to try it for myself. I’d had just basic dark brown hair all winter

and needed something refreshing for summer. And here’s how it turned out… I encourage you guys to all try something new you’ve been wanting to try for a while. You can always dye it back ;)

So now that you know a couple things that have been inspiring me for this summer, what’s been inspiring you? What trends are you loving OR hating?

Linda, xx

Ps: Sorry none of the eyeshadows have swatches, I’m currently moving into my new condo and half my makeup is there already (including my MAC palette with the shadows I mentioned)

Pps. Add me to instagram! That’s where all the DIY pictures and picture of me were taken off of! My user is LindaAlicia_
