In March Butter London launched their Lippy lip glosses to match five of their polish shades.  Being the Butter London fanatic, obsessed girl I am- of course I had to pick one up.  I mean come on, did you not see my spring nail polish picks…I love Butter London!

First of let’s talk about the price.  One Lippy gloss is $17, kind of pricey, but cheaper than some MAC glosses.  The color I picked up was Trout Pout, which is described as “a creamy peach-cantaloupe colour.”  To me though, the color is more of a pinky-coral and it is definitely pinker than the nail polish color Trout Pout (see photo below).

The one thing that gets me is the formulation; it’s like a sticky tar mess.  But they are described to be lacquer-like…interesting.  If you use too much you will look like there is slick tar on your lips…something I would imagine from Hunger Games of people from the Capital.  So use this gloss sparingly because I found the less that you use the better.  Also this gloss is so pigmented it’s crazy.

The Lippy glosses actually smell pretty good, but may be too perfumey for some people.  And they do not contain parabens, petroleum, phthalates, sulphates, or bismuth.

The five shades from the line are Primrose Hill Picnic- “a punchy, tropical, fuchsia pink,” Snog- “brighty, happy, hot pink,” Teddy Girl- “a pale retro bubblegum pink,” Trout Pout, and Yummy Mummy- “this medium beige colour is a true nude.”

Primrose Hill Picnic is the color I hope to pick up next, but overall the color selection is somewhat disappointing.  Teddy Girl and Yummy Mummy do not look like wearable colors (to me anyway).  I was kind of hoping for a Disco Biscuit shade because I’ve obsessed with that polish and think it would look great as a gloss color.
