Every girl who loves wearing lashes must own a decent tube of lash glue to prevent you from those embarrassing fall out lash moments. The trick to wearing lashes is to allow the glue to dry to a tacky consistency before putting it on. I’ve been an avid user to the duo adhesive brand for ages, that’s my one and only tube and it never fails on me. I borrowed my sister’s lash glue for 2 week and tried it out to see if there’s any differences between both of them. So let’s bounce to the review!
The Shu Uemura glue is 0.24oz/7g, and the DUO glue contains 0.5oz/14g of product. On the surface, you can see that the Shu Uemura glue has a smaller opening which makes it easier to regulate the glue directly to your lash band, however, excess glue gets dried up and blocks the opening, which almost always occur (hate!)- I spend more time squeezing the product out. With the Duo, it is prone to squirt out if you have clumsy thumbsy, but fine for me since I am used to it.
Both glue dries to a transparent finish, with the duo one being more yellowish. For the drying time, the Shu U glue definitely took a lesser time to dry.I find that both glue holds my lashes pretty well, since the only type of lashes are those invisible band (thin), however when researching on makeup alley, I find that a lot of people have claimed the Shu U had better adhesion.
In terms of smell, the Shu U glue is scentless, while the duo one is pretty stinky!
Overall, I like both glues. I don’t particularly fancy the small opening on the Shu U glue, otherwise, I would prefer it more because of the fast drying time. I feel that you have to have different mentality if you are switching over to the Shu U glue from Duo, because for the first week I didn’t know how to apply to properly, and applied it too thinly, which resulted me to hate the product. After the week, I am pretty used to it and love the Shu U glue.
