Today I had a random beauty reminder from the elements! It’s been a little chilly lately in FL – sunny, but the wind has been brutal to my hair and skin! There is nothing worse than having dry skin and hair and having to go outside when the sun is out in full force while the icy wind is trying to blow you over….am I in Florida? As soon as I got home I decided I needed an intervention! My hair & skin were going to go through an intense moisturizing session regardless how distracted or tired I was! … After the 2 hour process I knew I HAD to share this experience with your guys because my skin is as soft as after a spa day – and my hair is  flowing and shiny as a hair care commercial model! Toot Toot!

I know this may not be a new thing for most of you, so think of this post as a very important reminder – keep your entire self hydrated! The magic oil – EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) is so versatile that it can pretty much be used for everything within the beauty galaxy!  You can use it to remove makeup, soothe razor bumps, add it to body washes, condition your cuticles, and in this particular instance increase the moisture levels in your hair and enhance the texture of your skin! #TeamProEVOO

After spending the entire day in the brutal heat and whipping wind I ran inside for a homemade spa treatment! – Time to let you guys in on my little secret!

Get a bowl and get ready to change you skin & hair!

For your SKIN:

(2) tablespoons of brown sugar, (1) Ripe to Over Ripe  pureed Avocado, (1) tablespoon of honey, (1) cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil ,

Lets call this mixture Body-Nectar

Warm up a few wash cloths or towels in the microwave or dryer. If you are only doing this routine to your legs you can use small wash cloths, if you’re working with your entire body, I would suggest using larger towels or a bath robe! (TIP: Make sure the towel/robe is damp before you put them in the dryer, they will get a lot hotter this way – please don’t burn yourself, you just want the towels to be warm)

If you have a bathtub, this is the time to get a use out of it! (If you have a shower, don’t worry- I’ve done this using both!) The water must be warm whether you’re in the bath or shower!  I exfoliated first (with just sugar) with my amazing clarisonic plus, (with the body head)! to remove all the dead skin! Then apply the body nectar & exfoliate your entire body again! Once you are out of the shower pat your skin dry and apply olive oil and the body lotion of your choice to your skin. (Make sure it is at least 2 parts lotion to 1 part EVOO or you will look and feel greasy and will want to shower again.) Wrap your legs and/or body in warm towels (or your robe) for about an hour while you lounge around the house. After you remove the towels  you will be amazed at how soft and moisturized your skin will feel!

For your HAIR:

(2) tablespoons of brown sugar, (1) Ripe to Over Ripe  pureed Avocado, (1) tablespoon of honey, (1-2) cup/s of Extra Virgin Olive Oil(or however much you need for your hair)

Lets call this mixture Hair Nectar

Using the exact same mixture (i know you are asking why am I putting sugar and honey in my hair, trust me…..open your mind up to amazingly weird possibilities!) Just ensure you get all of the honey out before you leave the shower. For your hair, heat up a T-Shirt instead of a towel.

First rinse your hair with warm water and use an organic shampoo (i would suggest tea tree or the moroccan argan oil line from organix & Hello Hydration Conditioner from Herbal Essence)

Apply the Hair Nectar and massage through from roots to tips very well. Rinse thoroughly with warm water! Add a teaspoon of EVOO to the palms of your hand (or more/less depending on the texture and needs of your hair type) and apply through your hair! Wrap up with a warm T-Shirt (YES, say no towels for your hair!) and watch a few Tv Shows or take a nap!

….. Then, style to desire! and Love me forever!

This is a long post, but I had to share it with you guys! I have never felt so proud of my skin and hair!

Besos, Laila.
