Fujifilm has made a come back, not in cameras, film or anything related to photography, but in skincare. Last Saturday, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Vanity Trove + Astalift Pink Carpet event [event photos are here], where bloggers alike were given more in depth information to the new Fujifilm’s skin care line, Astalift. A fun little fact that was revealed to me was that Collagen, a key ingredient to many anti-aging skin care, is also essential in the photographic industry. That relation is probably why Fujifilm dwelled into anti-aging skincare.

Whilst most of our readers are young adults, it might not occur  that prevention is probably the key to anti-aging. This month’s March VanityTrove is an exclusive tie up with Astalift. If you also didn’t know what VanityTrove is, it’s pretty much like Birchbox, GlossyBox and BellaBox’s concept in Singapore and Malaysia. Unlike it’s competitor here in Singapore, VanityTrove charges a premium for SGD$25 per month per box. Althought it’s $10 more than Bellabox, I’ve seen the samples that they give and a lot of them are really highend samples (yes, think Lancome, Dior…).

March Vanity Trove Comes in 2 different themes, Brighten Up and Go for Glow, the latter includes the exclusive Astalift products. So let’s see what I have in my March Trove.

Themed in white are whitening products, and those in orange housing are the anti-aging line. Although all their products have anti-aging purposes as it contains Astaxanthin, and is meant to be  1000x more effective than both vitamin E and Q10, and the reason for the orange tint in all the creams and liquids.

1. Astalift Moisture Foam (2g Sachets x2)

2. Astalift White Shield Drink (2x 50ml): In my opinion, this taste great!

3. Astalift Day Protector: It’s an SPF. I really like this as it is not sticky at all! Great for under your makeup.

4. Astalift JellyAqaurysta (10g): They said this is their star product!

5. Astalift Whitening Lotion (30ml)

6. Astalift Whitening Essence (5ml): It’s slightly a thicker consistency than the lotion, and if you purchase their sheet mask, a full bottle of essence is soaked in it.

7. Astalift Whitening Cream (5g)

All the products are very gentle to my skin and they don’t break my skin out or clog my pores, I do feel my skin soften after first use of the products. However, I do claim my reviews are the first impressions and I didn’t have a long term use with them to see any anti-aging or whitening effect.

All in all, I think the products are good, but I have actually too much skincare, I would honestly prefer the Brighten Up Trove for this month.
