My local Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on L’Oreal products. Since I was in need of foundation I decided to try out their new Lumi Magique ‘light infusing’ Foundation. L’oreal describe this as ‘ a luxurious foundation, which acts as a two way mirror on the skin, infusing light that is already within the skin and diffusing exterior light for a ”soft focus” effect on the skin.’ On the boots website the cost of this foundation is £10.99. At time of writing they still have the 3 for 2 offer on.
Let’s start with the packaging. It is in a transparent glass bottle with a pump dispenser. Im happy with this packaging, it looks expensive and a pump dispenser is by far the most convienient way of dipensing liquid foundation, in my opinion.

The shade that I went for is called Nude Beige. I felt that the shades were all really close to each other in their tone making it quite difficult to choose but having used it a few times I think that this one is fine for my skin tone.
As you can see here it has covered the uneven pigmentation on my hand which was the result of a burn. However on the face it does not cover any significant blemishes, as you will see in the photo below.
I did no concealing here in order to show how the foundation looks on its own and it really doesn’t cover this spot up at all. What I would say is that it evens your skin out but if you do not have blemish free skin then you will defintely need to conceal when you use this foundation. Another problem with this foundation is, if like me you have an oily t-zone, then without powder it is going to make it look even worse! I think you can see this quite clearly from the photo.
I personally like my foundation to have better coverage than this and not to make me look more oily than I already am. I haven’t tried it with a powder yet because typically I don’t powder my face. I try to buy foundation that takes care of all my needs or use an oil control primer underneath it to help with the shine. On this basis , I won’t be repurchasing this foundation however I believe it would work well for those who have good skin and no excess oil.
Other products in the L’Oreal Lumi Magique range are a primer, bb cream and a concealer. The bb cream comes in either light or medium. I haven’t tried any of them and so I cannot comment on their performance. I would love to hear from you if you have tried them. To get in touch with us and perhaps send us photos you can join Facekitt on Facebook.
Tomorrow my fellow Scottish Facekitt writer and I will be attending the launch of Benefits ‘Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow’ liquid foundation. If we are able to take photographs of the event we will post them on the Facekitt Facebook page. We will of course let Facekitt readers know what we think of the foundation so stay tuned for that.
