Curls, Coils, Swirls, Waves … whatever! Having them can be a blessing or an absolute curse! I love the fact that I can have straight hair when I want, with a little work of course – and curls when Im tired of straight hair, like I said – Blessing! But when you can’t find products that work to your advantage having curly hair will drive you crazy!

Into the crypt I go…

I found this Garnier Fructis curl sculpting cream gel that claims to give you bouncy curls with frizz control! (Don’t you feel like all curly hair products promise you that?) Well, who can blame them – who doesn’t want frizz free flowing hair? Usually I love Garnier products, but I came across this that I have a few issues with, time to vent.

“Garnier Fructis Style Curl Sculpting Cream-Gel with fruit micro-waxes delivers curl sculpting polymers and silicones, perfectly balanced with moisturizing conditioners, in a cream-gel formula that leaves curls defined and bouncy”

THE LIES! Let’s get straight to the point!

I angrily launched this into the garbage after I tried to rediscover a liking for it! I hate wasting money, but it comes with the territory of being a product junkie! This product is slimy, thick and sticky, which usually means it will make your hair hard after it dries! Have you ever had to scrunch the crunch out of your hair? It’s not fun is it!? Now imagine not being able to remove that static texture no matter how long and hard you try to de-crunch….. (you can scream, I did!)

Lets keep in mind that I have really thick, mid-back curls, & I applied this to my damp detangled hair and raked it through with my fingers from roots to tips and about 2 hours later my hair looked like I got attacked by a rabid animal!  I would post a picture, but it would end my social life! (ha!) My best friend told me I looked like I was living in a dark hole for 20 years! It did not define my curls at all, it weighed them down at the ends, and caused more frizz at the roots than I usually get without product!  How is that possible? Could you imagine diffusing this in your hair? … the horror! (Especially if you have thin hair – don’t even LOOK at this product, RUN past it!)

I think the fact that it was labeled a ‘cream’ gel made me assume that this would be moisturizing, rather than just a coating of jelly but I was wrong! I instantly washed it out of my hair (with a sulfate shampoo) and my hair was stringy and ridiculously tangled! That never happens to me, so Im pretty sure this product is not only drying but difficult to remove from the hair.

To give Garnier credit, this product is very affordable & my hair did smell amazing like it always does after I use their line of products, but I would never recommend this to anyone, even if it was a penny!  I wish I could take it back for store credit and buy more drugstore lipsticks!!!

I had to wash my hair 3 times this week and it’s only Monday! I gave this a try twice and it failed both times! I’m not a happy junkie!
