Facekitt Junkies! Lately I’ve been wearing hardly any make-up, and by hardly I mean neutral make-up – I’m still an addict peoples! This is actually helping me with my “failed from the beginning” Project Pan experiment. The matte neutral colors from my original Naked Palette (Naked & Buck) are getting even more use these past few days, and I’ve been looking for a lip color that complimented my neutral eyes! I’ve not been in the mood for bold lips, and I’ve been really bored with Angel Lipstick (My favorite M.A.C. lip color).
Back to the crypt I go. The cold, dark, box where I keep my dead or dying makeup products. As I was rummaging through it, I found a lipstick that I don’t even remember buying! I pulled it out and turned it over to read the name …
…Syrup. What? I sanitized it and swatched it on my wrist and I realized exactly why it was in the crypt! It was awful, worse than awful and I was about to bury it in until I decided to swatch it on my lips! Awful, not even close – It was beautiful! Another lesson to not judge a book by its cover, or product before a use. Syrup is a permanent lustre lipstick, and according to the M.A.C. website they describe it as a cloudy pink. - Mmmm, not so much. Have you ever been looking for a lipstick that looks natural enough to be your lips, but better? For my lips, this is the answer! With my Naked eyes, and Syrup lips I’ve been feeling naturally made-up, and I’ve been on track with two more products on the pursuit of project pan! YES! Usually I hate Lustre lipsticks because they’re either not pigmented enough or they feel really weird on my lips, but Syrup is surprisingly moisturizing and pigmented, rare for Lustre’s.
I have a few friends that are MUA’s at M.A.C counters and after I told them about my rediscovery they all told me that they’ve never sold Syrup Lipstick to anyone! Then I asked a few of my friends & followers on twitter, and none of them have it either! Am I alone in the Syrup world? Do you have it?
I love discovering products that I hated with a new perspective! I feel like I didn’t waste $14.50 after all! So I tested out a few other Lipsticks in the crypt and I wasn’t as lucky with the rest. Poor Plink!, it will forever be in the crypt!
Have you ever rediscovered love of a past failed product? It feels great!
Besos, Laila… until Next Sunday – Syrup Kisses!

Wish you would have posted a picture of your lips with and without the lipstick so we can see.
Thanks for the recommendation Patricia! I will update this post with the pictures on Sunday!
