A few days ago I finally received something I had been patiently waiting for, my very first glam bag which I ordered from myglam.com.
Myglam.com is a company created by YouTube beauty guru’s Michelle, Promise, Jessica, Andrea, and Bethany.
For only $10 a month you receive an adorable little makeup bag in the mail filled with 4 to 5 full size products or deluxe size beauty samples.
Similar sites include birchbox, new beauty test tube, and beauty army, amongst others.
These are some of the things that I like about MyGlam:
- When you first join the site you take a beauty quiz to create your personalized beauty profile
- Every month the gurus will create looks using the products in that months GlamBag
- You get to see what you are getting before your package comes in the mail which gives you something to look forward to
- The samples are from good quality, popular brands which guarantees you will love it
- Very afforadable
- It comes with a new cosmetic bag every month!
The GlamBag comes inside an already adorable metallic pink, bubble wrap package with a note from Michelle and the team.
This months cosmetic bag was white with purple lines going in different directions and included coupon codes for Urban Decay and Mai Couture.
Here is what was inside:
Tarta “Lights, Camera, Lashes” Mascara
Lashes are such an important part of a look that finding just the right mascara is crucial. But with so many on the market it’s impossible to test them all out so I was so happy to see a new mascara to try in this months bag.
I used it right away and I love it! The application was very smooth and easy, my lashes looked both long and full and the brush is a great size.
It is a very dark mascara, great for a smokey eye!
Urban Decay shadow in “Sin”
Talk about great color payoff!
This is a very versatile color. Great for highlighting, all over lid, inner corner, etc.
Looks great on its own or over primer potion, which was also included in the bag. (Swatches below)
Urban Decay “Primer Potion”
Personally, I feel this is the best eye shadow primer on the market.
It makes a significant difference in the color as you will see in the swatches below.
I used it on my graduation day and my makeup did not budge!
It was great of them to include this in the very first bag because it is something that we will get to use with shadows from any future GlamBag.
NYX Soft Matte lip cream in “Instanbul”
I immediately fell in LOVE with this color. It is the perfect nude!
The formula goes on a little bit runny at first but dries very matte. Feel free to apply chapstick over it once it is dry if it is too matte for you, which is what I did from time to time.
The color is very opaque which is great, what you see is really what you get. (swatches below)
The color is very long lasting and it is also a very affordable product which is always a plus.
Mai Couture blush in a rush in “Prettyful”
What a cool concept, I couldn’t wait to get this in the mail.
This product is similar to a blotting sheet but instead of blotting the oil off it deposits color. I was hesitant that the color wouldn’t show or it would be streaky, but I was wrong.
The color I received is a beautiful shimmery pink and the pay off was great and the product is very easy to use.
These blush in a rush sheets come in different colors and the company also sells oil blotting bronzing sheets, rejuvenate oil blotting paper, and blemish control oil blotting paper.

So as you can see, this month I received 5 products and they were all a hit! I used to subscribe to birchbox and I found that most of my boxes would include at least one item that I wasn’t pleased with, but so far that isn’t the case with MyGlam. What I really liked about the products is that everything in my bag works great together to create a full look.
MyGlam is a new site and supplies are limited so if you can’t become a member right away I suggest you keep trying because it is definitely worth it! I received 5 new products that I will use time and time again and maybe even purchase in full size because so far they are all that great, and the best part is that I didn’t have to waste money searching for these products because for only $10 the perfect ones were delivered right to my door.
Here are the swatches I promised you!

Mai Couture blush is such a great idea for blush on the go. Too bad myglam doesn’t ship to singapore!
totally agree with you nicole! i want myglam to ship to canada
Canada has something like MyGlam. It’s called Glymm. You should check it out.
This is similar to Topbox that I receive every month! And right now on their facebook page they are doing a holiday contest! The prize is $250 worth of FULL size products that were featured in past topboxes!
MY NAME DENISE BALL AND I ORDER THE BAG LIKE20 DAYS AGO AND I DONT HAVE IT WHAT GOING ON WHO DO I CALL>??? SEXI_NISE@YAHOO IF U CAN HELP ME
I tried to give a friend a 1 year subscription to My Glam- ordered it on 12/2/11. My credit card was charged on 12/2/11. After 5 days, I never received any sort of confirmation or any communication with them. On their website, there is no way to talk to customer service, so I emailed but heard nothing back. I got the number of the business office, where they answered the phone “hello?”. Not professional. They told me that My Glam was out of stock but they had no way to access my account and recommended I email again. This time I did get a response. They did not answer my questions about whether or not there would be stock- they totally ignored my questions. So, I asked for a refund. They told me it would take 3-5 days. I have been waiting- over 2 weeks. The customer service girl named Nicole Robinson-Anderson told me in 2 separate emails that PayPal, who they use, had in fact refunded my money. However, that was not true. When I contacted PayPal, they said there was no request made for a refund and they said because it was via a “electronic PayPal” user, I would have to dispute it with my credit card company. PayPal also told me that their records show that My Glam (aka personalized beauty discovery) has a “freeze” on their account which means there would be no refunds available, even if they had requested one.
This company is in over their head. They are lying to those of you who are being told you will receive product soon, and they are deceitful in their dealings with customers. I would recommend trying Birchbox, as they have been wonderful to deal with and have great glam products.
I am getting mine pretty soon. I have a blog that I think a lot of you will like. I haven’t announced the giveaway yet, but pretty soon I will be giving one lucky reader a chance to win a myglam bag or birchbox! Come follow me at http://acollegeconfession.wordpress.com/
