I have been trying to figure out an inexpensive way to figure out how I wanted to store all of my beauty stuff. I have been searching since I started collecting makeup over two years ago. And finally, I am satisfied. So here are my tips on how to store my beauty products and this is blog #1. Next week I will have the second blog which I will show you how I organize my fashion items: clothing, jewelry, shoes, etc. So be on the lookout for that. Meanwhile, enjoy this one:
Starting in the shower where your beauty routine begins, I found this shower caddy in a Walmart I believe and it is home to my facial cleansers, body wash, loofah, and razor. It keeps my shower organized without cluttering the tub or the sides of it.
Next, and also in my bathroom, I have baskets under my sink and they are very convenient. They are not expensive at all and you can find them just about anywhere; these baskets I bought for $1 a piece at a yardsale. They neatly house my hair tools in one basket and other miscellaneous supplies in the other. Baskets are great for any part of the house because they hold just about everything and the make clutter look neat. Plus they are easier to pull out if you need to take it somewhere else in the house or if you need to take it out to look for something.

Okay, so most people store there beauty supplies in these little drawers you see below. Again, these drawers you can buy anywhere in any shape or size and even color. The black one I bought at Ollie’s which is a department store for a couple dollars and then the white was I bought a long time ago but I’m confident it costs somewhere between $6-$8. I started out doing that but as my collection grew, they became more of a hassle. They don’t hold much and they are shallow so the can’t store tall items unless you lay them down. Plus they are not very sturdy. They are, however, great for a beginner and good for maybe some products you don’t handle a lot, like back-up supplies. Right now they are home to my scrapbooking stuff.
You might say this little thing is a shower caddy and actually it is. This was about $5 at Walmart. I bought it for my shower, but it didn’t stick in my shower really well. So I randomly decided to stick it on my mirror one day and to my amazement it stayed. So I put my brushes, mouthwash, toothpaste, and misc. face and hair products in it and it really cleared up the clutter that accumulated in my bathroom, especially on my vanity which is small anyway.
And then probably my favorite part of my bathroom is this little cabinet thing that goes over my toilet. On it you see jars that contain cotton balls and cotton swabs, another basket, and then my beauty products are also neatly stored on it. It really enhances the look of the bathroom and I have all my products at my disposal so I don’t have to pack them up or anything. This was purchased at Kmart for about $40.
Then moving on to my makeup! I have been trying to find a great way to store my makeup for a long, long time. Most of the beauty gurus on YouTube buy really expensive storage pieces that are way out of my price range. But I saw this little drawer set at Ollies for $10!!! I had to jump on it. The top drawer contains my face products, the second drawer is my eye make up, the third drawer I have my lip products, and then the last drawer is miscellaneous makeup and my tools (like my Mark Flip Kit which has lip products and eye products so I didn’t know which one to put it in, and my eyelash curler for example).
Here are what the inside of my drawers look like. They are fabric drawers and they come out easily so I could take the whole drawer out and do what I need to do and then pop it back in there. They are also extremely deep so they can store even tall products right side up.
Then finally on top of my drawer set is where I keep my brushes in a cup brought back to me from Germany and my lipstick holder which I purchased at Ross for $3.

I love it all! Very organized
Oy, I guess I’m not a beginner makeup “junkie” as I would need more containers than what you have especially lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes.
